Painting with a Purpose
Mission Painting was built on the belief that good work should serve more than the surface being painted. Our name reflects our commitment to honest work, clear communication, fair pricing, and serving others locally and beyond.
Why We Share These Stories
We do not share these stories to draw attention to ourselves. We share them because we believe service is something more people can be part of.
Over the years, our family has had opportunities to serve alongside mission teams, local partners, and people already doing meaningful work in their communities. Those opportunities have taken us to South Africa, Swaziland/Eswatini, Peru, Honduras, and Haiti, along with local efforts close to home.
These trips have included practical work such as dental care, medical support, clean water, wheelchair building, transportation support, painting projects, and hands-on service. Along the way, they have also created opportunities to build relationships, spend time with children and families, and learn from local leaders already serving their communities.
Our hope is that these stories encourage others to look for ways to serve — whether across the world or right here in Central Iowa.
Where We’ve Served
These are some of the places and opportunities that have shaped the heart behind Mission Painting.
Haiti - 2026
In 2026, members of our family had the opportunity to be part of a team helping with field dental clinic support in Haiti and assessing future opportunities for mission teams to return safely and responsibly. After a season of serious safety concerns in the country, the trip focused on practical care, relationship-building, and helping prepare the way for future service.
Honduras - 2025
Members of our family served in Honduras with a team helping meet medical and dental needs while also providing water filtration systems to people in need.
Peru - 2024 & 2025
Our family first traveled to Peru in 2024, and some of us returned for a second trip in 2025 after Honduras. These trips included helping build wheelchairs, laying tile in a meeting space, painting buildings in need of care, sharing soccer balls with children, and helping provide motorcycles for people who needed reliable transportation for ministry.
South Africa & Swaziland/Eswatini - 2015 & 2018
These earlier mission trips helped shape our family’s heart for serving beyond our own community. Through these trips, we had opportunities to serve alongside others, build relationships, help with painting projects, share soccer balls with children, and help provide playground equipment for children in South Africa.
Serving Close to Home
Our family’s heart for service is not limited to mission trips. It also shapes the way we see needs right here at home through foster care, adoption, and support for organizations serving children and families in our community.
These parts of our story are personal, but they have helped shape the way we view people, business, and community. We believe there are opportunities to serve all around us — sometimes across the world, and sometimes right next door.
Our hope is to encourage others to look for simple, practical ways to care for people where they are.
How This Purpose Shapes Our Work
Our purpose does not replace professionalism. It strengthens it.
Every customer deserves careful prep, quality products, fair pricing, clean job sites, and clear communication. Whether we are serving on a mission trip or working in a home here in Central Iowa, we believe the details matter and people should be treated with respect.
That is the heart behind Mission Painting — doing quality work, treating people honestly, and using the opportunities we have to serve others well.
